Our Story

Welcome to Hardcore Street Collective, a dynamic photography collective rooted in the streets of India yet resonating globally through our collaborative spirit.

Shweta Agrawal

Our founder, Shweta’s journey began with a simple desire for financial independence, coupled with a passion for capturing the raw essence of everyday life. Through chance encounters and serendipitous connections forged within the vibrant community of APF (Art Photo Feature), her love affair with street photography blossomed in 2013.

Tethered to a mundane 9 to 5 job that never truly resonated with her creative soul, the bustling streets became her sanctuary. It was amidst the kaleidoscope of colors during our first Holi workshop in 2015 under the mentorship of Vineet Vohra and Rohit Vohra that her devotion to street photography intensified. The streets became her canvas, each candid shot immortalizing stories woven into the tapestry of everyday life. In 2017, fueled by a fervent desire to carve her own path, Hardcore Street Collective was born. What started as a modest endeavor blossomed into a thriving community, fueled by the shared passion of street photographers across the globe.

Our journey was marked by tireless dedication. From the daily dissemination of Magnum Photographers’ works to showcasing the brilliance of World Press Photo Winners, our commitment to excellence was unwavering. As the collective gained momentum, so did our vision. Weekly themed contests became the heartbeat of HCSC, drawing in photographers and enthusiasts alike. Each day, we celebrated a Photographer of the Day, providing a platform for emerging talents to shine amidst the bustling streets of the world. With the addition of Mithu Chakraborty as curator, our collective vision flourished. United by our shared love for the art form, we propelled Hardcore Street Collective into the spotlight, garnering recognition and appreciation from photographers worldwide.

Our journey is a testament to the transformative power of community and dedication. Through the lens of street photography, we capture the beauty, chaos, and humanity that pulse through the veins of our cities.Join us as we continue to redefine the boundaries of street photography, one snapshot at a time. Welcome to Hardcore Street Collective, where every frame tells a story, and every moment is a masterpiece.
