Swarat Ghosh, an Indian photographer hailing from Kolkata, is presently affiliated with the DiversifyPhoto Agency. His photographic creations have graced the pages of numerous esteemed national and international publications, including but not confined to The Washington Post, Burn Magazine, National Geographic Traveller, and International Street Photographer. His artistic endeavors have traversed borders, being showcased in cities such as Brussels, London, Paris, Glasgow, Istanbul, Thailand, Pondicherry, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
Having been mentored under Agency VII’s mentorship program, Swarat was nominated for the esteemed Joop Swart Masterclass in 2019, organized by World Press Photo. Notably, he clinched awards in the “Series” categories at two significant street photography festivals in 2019 – the London Street Photography Festival and Brussels’s Street Photography Festival. Additionally, he attained finalist status in the 2017 “Lens Culture” street photography competition. Swarat’s talent was recognized early on when he secured the prestigious “Neel Dongre Grants Awards for Excellence in Photography” in 2016, courtesy of the India Photo Archive Foundation.
In 2018, Swarat’s body of work titled “Beyond Street” was prominently featured in print exhibitions at the Indian Photography Festival in Hyderabad and North Carolina’s Eyes on Main Street Wilson Indoor Photo Festival. Furthermore, his photographs graced the screens at the Odessa/Batumi Photo Days 2017 in Georgia and the Photography Festival Maribor in Slovenia. Prior to these accolades, Swarat’s earlier works found display platforms at the Pondy Photo Fest Pondicherry 2014 in India.
